red on feet

Ya I've had mine since two days old. They sit on shoulder and lap. And follow us everywhere even if we don't have treats. definitely get them as babies. Its a lot more fun :) here are my 5 . The fat front gold one is meatball. She's the one with red on her feet.

Nice looking girls! I love those white beaks! All my birds have the orange or black beaks, so it is neat to see such a stark color difference.
I have 13 birds; 12 assorted hens and a Polish crested rooster.
Here is the rooster with a few of his hens. He is a pretty good boy so far. :)
I love all these birds, but definitely want more loveable chickens next time!
So 5 years old, huh? How are they laying now? I am new to chickens, just since May. 8 of my birds (rooster included) are 8ish months old. 5 of the hens are 2-3 year old adults, and they seem to be laying okay, other than not too much right now because they molted and are getting back into the groove now, since they aren't supplemented with light.

Aw I love yours! They get spoiled and lots of treats! Those white ones were black when I got them as babies. Mine started laying at 4 months old and most days I get all five except for it being this cold these past couple days i'm

only getting three. I'm even getting speckled eggs from my Rhode island red. They're actually only 8 months old. I'm only allowed to have five, but want more chickens. I think my funniest one is fluffy. She loves the camera. This is her the gold one

Those are cool pics! The golden one (buff orpington?) is an awesome pic!
I have no pics of ours enjoying human company, lol When we first got the baby aged ones, my daughter climbed in the coop we had then, and forced them, but they didn't like it lol.
I am okay with that though. The rooster is great, considering we have to grab him 2 times every day and rub stuff on his head, or spray Blu-Kote, since at his old house the head rooster plucked all his feathers off, and we are fighting the brat hens who like to still pluck his growth if I forget to do it. But he lets me pick him up and stuff him under my arm like a football to to it. No fighting, no attempts to peck me or anything.

I misunderstood- the 5- is 5 hens, not 5 years old. ;) We get about 4 eggs per day from the 12 hens, and that is with the 5 adults going through molts right now. Before the weather got cold and the sky got dark sooner, we got 8-12 eggs a day from them all. So I have about 18 dozen eggs in our 2nd fridge right now! :p Should get us through the winter just fine for these less laying days :)

Ya she's a buff Orpington. She loves the camera. She stops eating treats and stuff if I bring out the camera. At least the rooster let's you hold him. mine like to just sit down on my lap. Sweet! You'll have eggs for a while. I love the fresh eggs though.

Me too, on the eggs. Even being a couple of months old, they still taste better! And it is fun, and so much easier to not have to bring home eggs from the store without breaking them!
We have 3 buff orpingtons too :) I like to call them the dumb blondes of our flock, as they seem to be the not so brainy, repeat the same thing with the same results, in our flock. What about yours? My favs in ours are our Speckled Sussex and the Partridge Plymouth Rock. We also have an unidentified black hen, one of the older ones, she is super sweet, just really whiny, lol. I think she might be an Australorp.

Yes! So much easier than bringing eggs home from the store. haha that's funny. My buff Orpingtons are actually the smartest ones I have. The white ones are pretty stupid at times. My buff orpingtons will actually chase my boyfriend around the yard when he runs around. They do the funniest things. My Rhode island red is funny too she only bites my boyfriend but doesn't bite me. And if I put my hands under their wings and rub their fuzzy feathers around the chickens stick their butts straight up i'm the air. My white one dances around too. yours sound cute! I wanted a black one.

Funny how they are so different in different flocks. :) When we go outside, our flock comes running to their fence like a bunch of 2 legged dogs, begging for treats!

That's cute! Mine are like that. Even if they hear one of our trucks start they are on top of coop looking for us
