Carmen, my 20week old today Easter Egger if I've calculated correctly, has a sort of red on her shoulders. I'm not sure if this is what I read about that signifies a cockerel. I'm hoping to get a green egg soon (kinda thought today could be the day but...) but her comb hasn't gotten any red in it yet so I'm hoping she's a slow starter, not a cock. What do you think? 20190731_120137.jpg 20190731_120129.jpg 20190731_120151.jpg

Definitely looks like a pullet to me! I don't see anything about her that says roo to me. Once you start seeing her comb turning red is when her hormones are kicking in and you should then be on the lookout for an egg. :) They will often start squatting in front of you before they begin laying as well. lol

I just realized who posted this and you likely know everything I just said. lol, Ignore me. :duc My vote is still that she looks like a lovely little pullet though!

Yes, I've been waiting for her comb to start changing. She's the biggest out of the pullets and almost as big as my almost 2 year old hens. But there's not a bit of pink in her comb let alone red. I've always felt she was a pullet but thought it wise to see what others thought. Thanks for agreeing she's a she!

She’s a pullet. She will be laying soon. Any eggs from Henneth Cryss? :fl
Yeah I thought she was a pullet but i read about red shoulders and cockerels being late bloomers (like Roopecca!), so I wanted to make sure.
Unfortunately Henneth has not laid an egg...well...unless she is the mysterious soft shell layer. It's her or its Nugget, one of the buffs. I was hoping she'd lay before Carmen begins so I could know it's her green egg. I'm thinking of putting her in the guest house for a bit once the big coop is finished. Then I'll know who is laying the shelless eggs.

She's a Pullet. I have some similarly colored (with a lot more red) that I used to have the same concern over but yeah as @ColtHandorf said it would be a much stronger red shall we say. Here's Pullet red vs cock red.

And here's the cock

As you can see it's a much deeper red
