Red Patches on Duck's skin

I found one of my ducks this afternoon with a bright red patch and a bit of blood on her back by her tail. She was in their puddle so her feathers were wet. She is one of the last ducks that still needs to molt from our flock. When I looked closer I also found a few other much smaller red spots on her skin in other places. One by her shoulder. One on her front. The skin isn't broken in these spots. But the spot on her back is blistering and looks quite painful. What could be causing these patches?
I have looked for evidence of mites etc and haven't seen any.

Have you noticed anyone chewying on her? It looks like someone is pulling out feathers.

Do you have any blue kote?
Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen anyone picking on her recently. Our drake picked on her during mating season months ago but he is only chasing ladies off now and leaves her alone. She had nice fluffy down a week ago when the cold snap came through. I put vetericyn spray on it.

That is a good one to use. I'd just keep watch she may be doing it to herself but then again it may be one of your other ducks. My girls are being snippy to each other now. And if you have chickens I would separate her from them, they are drawn to red areas can really do a number on her.

Have you figured out yet how she got these red patches?
Not for sure. Although I'm leaning towards another duck pulling some feathers. She is looking better but a different duck just got some bad spots all of a sudden this evening. I'm wondering if they are fighting over their puddle. It was frozen over for 4 or so days and now they are all crowding it. I may try to add a pool in for a bit to see if it helps. I haven't seen any fighting though. They usually get along really well.

They have times where they will pick on each other so more than likely you have someone (maybe more than one) that’s feeling naughty right now. Something I had never seen till last year was my Runners getting into squabbles they didn’t last long but it was a first for me seeing it. Giving them a pool maybe enough of a distraction to stop it I hope so..
