Red Rangers vs Freedom Rangers

hmm, when I ordered my Red Rangers I was told to butcher at 9-11 weeks. I've already lost two of the original 20 ... just keeled over dead .. heart attack from growing too fast? And they were not good at ranging .. too flighty so I kept them in a grassy fenced in area. The concentrated a lot more on the grain than on the foraging.

I raised 200+ red rangers this summer on pasture. They tolerated heat very well. I found their temperament to be average, not orpington docile, but not flighty or crazy. My RR foraged very well and ate the pasture down to the dirt, then I would move them to fresh ground again. Most finished around 4.5lbs in 12 weeks but many were under that like 3.5lbs. : / I want to try the Freedom rangers next year to compare.

So what's your final analysis of the two breeds. I have raised fr but only eaten rr. Taste wise the are similar to me.
I personally will never buy Freedom rangers again. I bought them at Tractor Supply to compare them with Rudd Rangers from Hoover hatchery. Rudd Rangers were twice the size at 8 weeks old, as a matter of fact I have a batch of Bielefelder*Delware cross the same age as Freedom rangers and Bielefelder*Delware cross are a lot bigger than the freedom rangers at 8 weeks.
So the final verdict is that Rudd Rangers from Hoover hatchery are a lot better choice and even Delware and Bielefelder*Delware cross much better than Freedom rangers.
