Ok, my new flock arrived this morning and all is going pretty good! Set up water and feed dishes and gave them a little bit of scratch to make them feel welcomed. They're on the back side of the house and was shaded. But now its hot so I put up cardboard around the coop for shade and gave them a treat of cool sliced red seedless grapes, they seemed to love them! All 4 rushed over and goobled them up! LOL.

I'm really gonna have to rethink the water dishes, has dirt in both now. I'm gonna get hubby to hang them from the inside top of coop to keep the dirt out. Heres a couple pictures, sorry for them being in the shadow of the coop. I'll have better ones later.

Names. Our girls are the "musical (singing) chickens": Dolly, Patsy, Iris and Olivia (all Buff Orpingtons), Aretha and Janis (sold as Black Arcaunas, actually are EE), and KD (a white/grey Banty).
Of the 7, Patsy, Janis and KD are laying daily. The others are.... waiting. For what? we do not know.

My black sex link is pretty vocal, my hubby and I were feeding them and noticed she was making herself known. I'm thinking Scarlette for the light/buff pullet.
