I have a 1 year old RIR and 2 red sex links of about 7 1/2 months. They free range most of the day, they receive at least 12-14 hours of light, and I feed them organic layer pellets. They only lay their eggs in the nesting boxes, which is great! However, every day I only get 2 eggs from the 3 of them. One everyday from the RIR, but the red sex links are taking to laying their eggs every other day.

is this the norm with the breed? I live in Northern California, so harsh weather is not an issue. How can I help them to lay eggs every day like my RIR?

Usually sex links are egg laying machines.

Check the analysis on your organic feed to make sure that it is providing optimum egg laying nutrition. Not all feeds are created equal.
