Red Sex Link with foot problem (pics)

This red sex link has something wrong with her foot. I don't know what it is because I've never seen it before in any of my hens. It almost looks as if part of her toe is missing. She limps when she walks and prefers to stands on one leg, so it's obviously weaker than it should be. Anybody know what it is?

That's a pretty bad case of scaly leg mites. To get rid of them, slather her legs good with vaseline at least once a day for the next week or two. It'll smother out the mites. You should probably do the rest of the birds too, since chances are they have it, and also do a really good coop clean out - especially the roosts! Dust with some DE or Sevin dust while you're cleaning to get rid of them in the coop.
 
Thanks, I thought it might be lice. The flock is small so at least it is not a large-scale outbreak!
