RED SEXLINK

I have a red sex link with black tail feathers.....the ones I have with white tail feathers are white rocks crossed with RIR while the black tail feathered one is White Rock hen bred to New Hampshire Red rooster. The breeder prides himself with providing different colors on his red sex links.

I've seen a few Red Sex Links with black tail feathers in which reputable breeders (probably like yours) crossed heritage RIRs or NHs, both of which have a profusion of black tail feathers, with silver gene hens; however hatchery quality RIRs and NHs like the thread starters (which are essentially different shades of Production Reds) almost invariably have white tail feathers with a notable absence of black tail feathers.

I meant to say hatchery quality RIRs and NHs almost invariably produce Red Sex Links with white tail feathers rather than black. Sorry about the error.)
