Red Shouldered Yokohama

i heard you have to feed yokohamas a very high protean diet and maintain a certain temperature to grow there tails right and keep them from molting if so does anyone know how this is done

Our little red shouldered Yokey is doing just great free ranging with the rest. He doesn't get any special treatment and is feathering our rather nicely.

ya mine are doing very well to without doing any thing extra but will the roosters loose there tail feathers when they molt is my only concern i was told that you can keep them from molting so the tails keep growing but i cant find any info on how its done
