Hi All,

My 2 year old black sex link hen Jolene has very red skin on her belly- it is typically the area on their underside where there are not feathers. I have included pictures to help trouble shoot. Note the following:

She is acting completely normal
Eating, drinking and laying normal
None of the other hens are red in this area or have a similar problem
Cleaned the coop and run and recently changed out the nesting box material
She is not broody
She is the top hen so no would would even dream of picking on her- nor do I see any picking or bullying occurring
Don't see any lice/mites

Any help on what this is and if there is anything to help sooth or heal would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!

Thanks Poultry Parent- any thoughts on what I can apply if anything to sooth it? Or should I just leave it be?

you can put some vasaline on it if you want, and if it gets worse you can separate her from the others and make sure there is plenty of bedding where you put her, other than that just keep an eye on it
