Red spot on beak and scab on side of mouth?

Hi guys,
I noticed this red mark on the top of one of my chickens beaks. Upon further examination I saw a scan on the side of her face but am not sure if it’s from pecking or something else? I noticed another birds beak, same breed, was starting to develop a similar mark but not as much. Photos attached. What can this be and is there any intervention needed?

Do you have 1/2" hardware cloth they might be trying to reach thru to eat vegetation?
Or a hard edge on a feeder?

Not really. They’re currently in a makeshift brooder which was used out of a dog cage…. They will be going into their coop in a couple days as we finish placing the last locks on and getting the dirt nice and ready for them.
