LOL well its Texas. The min you say Rooster...

And no. No game birds.... well I had ordered a red pyle but I'm pretty sure it didn't make it. I found a place here in Wylie that will process my meat birds for $2.50 each with no min and no big hoops to jump through.. and the best part: they are state licensed and inspected... thank god. lol What I don't know is if i can keep the buggers from crowing long enough to get them to that point. LOL How long does it take for Red Stars to get to that size? lol

16-20 weeks usually for a decent size carcass. I have a few Oriental Birds and people assume way to many things. 2.50 is kinda of expensive for around here. I butcher my own but have seen butcher shops that will do it for about 1.25 for 25 or more and $1.75 for less than 25 birds. It might be your area as well. 16-20 weeks is about when they start crowing also.

I didn't think 2.50 was too bad because its the only place I can find locally and compared to the thought of having to do it myself? eeks. lol

I think one of the Phoenix is already showing a nasty temperament. Hes only 2.5 weeks old and hes already aggressive and trying to crow. I heard him screeching while i was outside in the garden watering the onions... that's clean through a brick wall . I can tell hes not even 3 weeks old and hes already feisty and flighty. lol I think someone better enjoy the time he has because I wont keep an aggressive bird.
