Red stars don't mess around!

I had always heard that the RSL's would lay early but this is crazy. They just started laying at under 14 weeks. I am a believer. They are not as pretty as some of my others but when it comes to egg laying they don't mess around.

Amen to that! 7 out of my 8 red stars (golden buffs) are laying just about every day I guess the one is a slacker. Cannot complain tho I am getting 7-9 eggs out of my fifteen girls. Four of them are not laying yet, still a little young.

My RSL didnt start to lay until 26 weeks

But they are deffinitly the best layers! 5/5 eggs yesterday! And they just started to lay last weeks!

RSL are about the best I have had. I have 50 of them. Started laying at 18 weeks. I have 50 more younger ones that will start laying soon too.

Is it normall for them to lay so early? I got these from MM.

14 weeks is a little early. The earliest we have had was 17 weeks. But I have heard of it happening before.

I forgot to mention that I have 26 and only 4 are laying.

Do any of the hatcheries sell Red Star hatching eggs? I am sold on the great qualities that Red Stars have and really want some for the awesome egg laying qualities.

Yes especially the ones that are mostly white with red rings on the edges of their feathers!
