I've been reading up on guardian dog breeds of late after seeing them mentioned here.

The two who went hooning after the birds of prey were a rotty x collie and a staffie x collie, the latter being smaller than the birds of prey.....

Perigrines generally will not bother chickens or ducks, especially full grown ones but Red Tailed Hawks will definitely find duck or chicken on the menu. Chicken wire, even doubled will not stop a raccoon.

Ok, so I will go ahead and go with another layer of hardware cloth on the inside, to double up protection, supervise their free range, and I have reached out to the director of the peregrine recovery program in my town for any tips to keep them away!!! Wow, just what I always wanted 9 more kids to babysit outside!!!!! Lolol!!!! Thanks everyone!!
