I just want to know if the hen was ok!!!

Cool, crows can be great allies. Just don't expose baby chicken to them, they are opportunist. Some say that the crow steals their hens eggs and feed. I haven't had any trouble like that in the nearly 5 yrs of chicken keeping..I have found that a good relationship with the crows is very good for my hens.It does take time to gain their trust.Farmers, etc are often shooting at them, so many are leary of man...Since hawks are protected by the feds, what better allie could a chicken tender have...?

My dad has always said that vultures do more gliding, and hawks do more flapping; plus he's telling me now that the vultures have bigger wings and smaller bodies than hawks.

We also have our chickens free range in the goat pen. We have never had a problem with the hawks and at times we have a group of about 15 flying over our home. I have never seen them roost in the trees above the goat pen either.
