Following this as I've no idea either and seen it with a few of mine occasionally. One of my girls is laying eggs that have a red rough weak spot on the shell. Everyone appears happy and healthy. Can anyone explain what’s happening? Thanks!!!
Thank you for your reply to my question. I know it’s hard to tell in the picture but it’s like part of the outer shell might be missing…it’s rough to the touch and you can put your finger through it without to much trouble. I see how your eggs look similar, but this spot is slightly larger then a pencil eraser. Sometimes it is also a long streak around the egg that is the same texture and weakness.could be wrong, but pretty sure its just a genetic coloration trait .. one of mine puts out similar spotted eggs ..
Part of shell is not missing but weak and rough....probably collects more coating pigment.Thank you for your reply to my question. Oh ok, I get ya! Is there something missing from her diet or is this caused by aging? Do you know?Part of shell is not missing but weak and rough....probably collects more coating pigment.
Shell gland glitch.
If the rest of your birds are laying with good and hard full shells, it's not likely diet.Is there something missing from her diet or is this caused by aging? Do you know?
