Has anyone had birds that have "rooster" red wings and still end up being pullets?

This bird is confusing me. It's a barnyard mix.

That's a cockerel. Chickens have sexually dimorphic markings, males are marked different than females. Only males get red leakage on the wings, females get it around the throat and on the chest.

Other birds from the same hatch day:

Next question: Do some indicators weigh more than others? For example comb color vs. plumage color? I know that crowing means rooster. Egg laying is 100% hen. While I'm waiting on that, what can help me figure this out? These are also barnyard mixes with the Easter Egger wildcard (one of the roos from the original flock is an EE- the other two are a black orpington and a barred rock) mixed in, so does that change anything?

The gold on the chest doesn't mean anything, especially in mixed breed birds. It's the pink comb, dark red shoulder patches, and those thin, shiny feathers coming in on the back that all point to this bird being a cockerel.

Thanks! 2 out of my first 6 birds are pullets. The other two black ones were easy to identify. Now, I'm ready for more! With my current record I'm going to see if I can get 8-10 more chicks.
