that’s what i thought, but 1) i didn’t know if there were bantam RIRs and 2) it has a dark rectangle shape on its back.

There are. I can't think of anything else it could be.

I think you are right! I didn't realize RIR bantam chicks could be so dark, but they are in the photos I saw.

Almost looks chocolate colored. Bet you it grows up to be one of those gorgeous dark mahogany red RIRs (bantam sized).

Ive got 4 or 5 of those from TSC in my brooder right now. I have no idea what they are but I hope to get a breeding pair or trio out of them.
