Use meal worms to help tame him out... they LOVE those!
A little bit of hissing and popping isnt a big deal.... at least you can handle him already!

Oh man, I have wanted one for a while now, but they are illegal here, well technically they aren',t but they aren't legal either, so that makes them illegal by California law

Congrats on your little ball of spikes!

I have to warn about the food though - food transition should be done in transition over about 2 weeks. Not doing so can upset their fragile digestive system quite a bit.

I've give him an oatmeal bath and used a gentle toothbrush on his dry skin sort of like a loofa...lol. I dont think its mites, I think he is just dry from being in pine shavings.
We got him some science diet wet cat food and he adores it. I put a teeny tiny drop of omega oils in it to work on that dry skin issue.
He gets craisins for a treat and last night I let him have about 1/2 tsp of scrambled eggs. Wolfed it right down.

He also gets a few pieces of dry food to snack on. But its in a bowl, not thrown into his bedding.

We have him in an old bunny hutch with carefresh for bedding and he happily burrows into that.

He is very spoiled! LOL
