Do the Sweetie babies have names yet? I can't remember if we did that. If not, I'd like to propose Biscuit for one of the Cookie look alikes as that is what the Brits call the same treat we Yanks call a cookie. Happy birthday babies and congrats Sweety - you did it! And here's to hoping you're just as amazing at raising them.

Biscuit is it! She's doing awesome!

When she starts bringing the babies out I'll pen the 8 and 9 week olds for a day or so. That way she'll only have the 9 older birds to contend with for first introductions. The RIR pullets have been squabbling while she's been on the nest. Sweety usually keeps them in line, so I can't wait to see her back in the yard running things.

The light brown is from one of my older chickens and the darker brown is I think from one of my 5 months old and the olive egg is from Cheeks. It's so CUTE.

I can't wait to have colored eggs to gather!

My two BYMs lay brown, occasionally Sweety's seem a bit pink when the bloom is light but it's not consist enough that I'd say she's an EE. My 1 Buff Orpington and 5 RIRs pullets haven't started laying yet.

The 8 Week olds are 3 Gold Laced Wyandottes, 1 EE , 1 Blue Jersey (looking Rooish), 4 (more) Buff Orpingtons; the 9 week olds are 1 Red Sexlink and 8 Black Sexlinks, and 9 assorted bantams (still figuring out the breeds of a few of those, but two are obviously males).

That's why cream legbars and EE are definitely on my list for next spring. I was hoping to find more than the one this year, but I have to keep reminding myself there's no reason to rush.

This is exactly why I did the Hatch Along, the wait is excruciating
