Hello! I have a speckled Sussex pullet that had what appeared to be blood in her poop this morning. The poop in general looked good, nothing super runny or discolored. What I did notice is she has this stringy orangey stuff on it. It wasn't super thick but looked kinda jelly like. Not sure exactly what it is, my girl has been acting normal and eating still! So nothing out of the ordinary in that manner. I did just go pick up some "Oxytetracycline" (HCI) a soluble powder - broad spectrum antibiotic. Not sure if I should give it to her? Or if I'm overreacting? I would play pictures but I can't find how to upload them.. Thanks for the help everyone!!

I'm not one to jump on any medication right away but after losing 4 of 7 chicks this last spring to a bout of coccidosis I think I would start Corid right away. I lost 4 of 7 chicks overnight and this is what only one of their poops looked like. There is a good thread on dosage if you search Corid. Good luck

X2, and I'd also de-worm with Safeguard at 0.23ml per pound for 5 days.

Casportpony, thanks for the Info! I think I'll probably do that just to make sure. Would I go to the vet to get safeguard?
