Hi all,
I have a one year old very aggressive rooster - he attacks my kids and very often takes steps at me, even though we've regularly hand fed, carried, asserted back at him etc. He just has to go, and he will soon, not only for this but we only have 8 hens between 2 roosters.
The question is - my other rooster has generally been large, confident, calm, kind the king of the flock. He's also a Bielefelder, a breed regarded as friendly. He recently has gotten a bit aggressive when the kids are trying to fend off the other rooster. Then just the other day he attacked, unprovoked, a visitor to our house. Are we likely to see his behavior change when he doesn't have a competing rooster, or are we looking for a home for him too?
