Usually duel wafers thermostat are wired in series because the micro switches typically stick in the on position. If the main thermostat sticks in the on position the secondary thermostat break the circuit preventing run away temps.

Thank you, I've gotten everything but the little ceramic insulators and still trying to find some original type hardware such as the corners and the door latch. So far I've been able to dupe everything inside electric wise. :)

Thank you, Never thought about that. So, I'll make a few changes..........again! That would sure explain why the guy had his wired the way he did.I "assumed" that if the first one went bad, it wouldn't allow the current through to next one. Isn't the first time I was wrong and a good chance it won't be the last time either! Again, thanks.

I've been watching CL for incubators. I wish some of these were available near me. I wouldn't mind having one. I've been considering building a cabinet type incubator but would be just as happy restoring and using one of these.

I'm still looking. I have a Sportsman, but last week when it was cold & windy, the temps went down to 98...Its in an addition room off my old farm house, that has 3 sides that face out side...so the room gets colder than the rest of the house. I guess my hatch will be a day late...
