You can use the auto turner and still lay eggs flat and hand turn also.

Most eggs hatch fine in tray large end up, except turkey and peafowl egg.

I collect incubators and have about 12 all type

they want to much for that one.

Waterfowl eggs also benefit from being turned on their side.

Thanks for the info, I'll be passing that one up as they want too much for it.

the turn-x is best for parrot eggs,

the turn-x,roll-x, and hatchrite all roll the eggs.

the hatchrite holds the most, so thats the best for peafowl egg, or even osrich.

I used the sportsman for most other eggs.

The way i put peafowl eggs in the sportsman, auto turn ,and hand turn 3 times.

I wouldn't pay $350 for something that old and in that condition.... but that's just me.

If I ever got into serious hatching, I'd do a Brinsea cabinet incubator.

I'm pretty sure it's an incubator. Most people turned eggs by hand once upon a time. Many still do.

Personally I'd go see it, plug it in and take the person selling it for coffee. Come back and see where it's at on temp and how it runs. If it's tried and true and you like the styling and how it functions, I'd go for it.

Yes they did, but those had a way to turn the eggs, from outside on the incubators.

Any hatcher can be used as a incubator, but hatcher also held more eggs, also where cheaper when new.

i have 1 and its my main incubator. it holds moisture and humidity better than my gqf sportsman. im actually hunting another one. to me hand turning is my zen. i like it gives me a chance to inspect and such. id give no more than 350 for a 5 drawer leahy but if it has more drawers you betcha. heres mine when i first got it last year and when i first learned to work it.
