Jim what kind is it, can you or did you replace the wafer if it has one, as they do go bad. Guages could also be the problem.
I know one time i bought 3 of the same kind(brand name) and all where different, By a few degree or so +/-. same with hum readings, That can really mess with you as you try to do everything you can and nothing seems to work.
I have many friends that had there hand at incubation and they just give up. we now hatch many of there eggs for them, from quail all the way up to a few emu.

Just keep at it you will figure it all out with time.

WOW Charlie, dems some beautifull birds !!!! I know i'm gonna git carried away with this pheasant stuff lol. I say i won't eat any of mine but when my son gits home from his deployment it will be thanksgiving and what better time fer roasted pheasant !
i've got plenty o' room fer s sizable pen sooooooo..why not ?
I know i'l git this bator thing figgered out sooner er later. Gues maybe i should o' praticed with some eggs from my hens first huh?
I'm pretty sure it's like you said. Irratic gauges. I've been fighing a most miserable cold/flu fer two weeks now bubt i know as soon as i git my strength back i'll git this bator thing figgered and most likely improved on. I never was one to not fix it myself.
