Just got a male Reeve's from an auction. He has very short tail feathers. They say he's 2 years old and his hen passed away. How long before his tail comes back, or will it. I'm trying to locate him a nice local hen

His tail should grow back when his molt is done.Where are you located?Maybe I can find someone near you with a hen or 2.Reeves are very aggressive breeders so if you can get 3 or 4 hens, that would be better.

Tom Maness in Belton is the only listing for reeves in S.C.If he doesn't have any(which he may not this time of year, laying season)he may know someone with them.

Wow my red goldens started laying 2 weeks ago.I am still waiting on Amherst, blue eared, brown eared and 1 pair of impeyan, the other pair laid 8 days ago,but the older pair is late this year.Have so many eggs I had to buy another incubator.I am trying a yard turf from northern tool and equipment.I had another R-com lined up on craigslist, but couldn't get there for 2 weeks and they ended up selling it.
What breeds do you raise?

I just have the pair of red goldens, i bought the Reeve's this weekend. The red goldens are young a d this is their first cycle. I have a cqf sportsman. Will the pheasants sit, or should I incubate them myself?

I like to give the birds a chance to raise their own.If they don't set after laying 8 eggs I incubate them.At 8 eggs the oldest is 16 days which is 1 day beyond the lastest you should set them.Well that's also depending on the breed.
