My pullets are now a month old and just being put outside. They have refused to go in the coop without me putting them in and closing them up (I have done this 2 nights in a row). They seem to be really mad at me now. We've had 2 days of heavy downpours and they still won't go in. I have gone out and physically put them in and locked them up as they were huddled together on the puddled ground. They've never seen rain before. Should I let them figure it out or continue to put them up when they need to be in the coop?
Chickens hate change. Keep putting them in until they get the idea. I'd say lock them in the coop for several days, but most areas are entirely too hot to do that right now.
