My pullets are now a month old and just being put outside. They have refused to go in the coop without me putting them in and closing them up (I have done this 2 nights in a row). They seem to be really mad at me now. We've had 2 days of heavy downpours and they still won't go in. I have gone out and physically put them in and locked them up as they were huddled together on the puddled ground. They've never seen rain before. Should I let them figure it out or continue to put them up when they need to be in the coop?

Yes, thank you. The first night I let them sleep outside in the small run under their coop. Yesterday it rained and I put them in the coop. I know it's stressful on them, me having to chase them down. (any other time they'd come right to me) But I feel they need to sleep inside. Their run is totally secured and wrapped in hardware cloth with a full 2 foot skirt. But they cry a lot just being in the dark. But I guess I'll just keep putting them in the coop.
