We butchered my big Red sex link roo yesterday. Simply because we didn't need him for breeding and because he was top rooster he wouldn't let our Rhode Island Red breed the hens. Now we will be needing a replacement rooster. Luckaly we have pleanty to choose from.
We got the Ass. Heavy Roosters from Mcmurry I know I need a red one or there was no reason not to just keep Kramer.
I spent yesterday afternoon worrying I had made the wrong decision and staring at the roosters I have tried to avoid because I hate getting attatched to that which must be dinner. We ended up with a ton of Red roosters but none really stick out to me as great except the one I have a suspicion is not a RIR He is much lighter colored and has been since he was little. He looks alot like the pics of the New Hampshire Reds and so before I decide I need to know. Will he work to make sexlinks? We hatch out both black and red sexlink chicks. If not I will have to pick one of the RIR but this roo is so much prettier and softer
Sorry this is like a book!
Thanks in advance
Melissa
