I had a big long reply just doing the final additions to it and my stupid computer deleted it.... I will see if I can write it up agian...
But Health and money stopped me from doing anything much with Katee except ground work. I did alot of long lining with her and in hand work she can do a shoulder in from the ground... I wanted to do driven dressage with her but it was only a dream.
I am a reader and did have some Classical Dressage training back when i was a young person. My trainer then went on to be short listed for Dressage for the olympics.... twice.
through Her I took one lesson given in a clinic by Charles De Kunffy... he liked my horse not me... too many years of cavelry style riding ruined my habits.
Three books that have influenced all my interactions with horses...
First one was by Colonel Alois Podhajsky ... Complete training of horse and rider... its out of print except on kindle
Podhajsky wrote the White Stallions and was credited for saving the Lipazzons during World War II He was the director for the Spanish Riding school at Vienna. the book is a hard read. Because its translated from his native language I dont know.... what it was... but well worth it because he is so passionate.
The second one was by Charles De Kunffy ... Creative horsemanship He too is a hard read but once you get into the terminology eye opening.
And Lastly a book by Heike Bean and Sarah Blanchard.... Carriage Driving: A Logical Approach Through Dressage Training
Very easy read probably the best illustrations of extension and collection I have ever seen as well as bending.... Their approach to Driving training is Outstanding in my opinion.
