That's pretty typical of a Silver. You don't find many that are really gray in color, most are dark brown with a flaxen mane and tail, and maybe dapples. He sounds like he was a really sweet little guy, and well loved.
Thank you! His coloring was so unusual, that much was clear but I never knew he was considered a silver. I was never quite sure what he was either...Looking like a shaggy Shetland but so tiny like a miniature horse - I didn't think Shetlands came quite so small. He shared a stall with a miniature Jenny foal and together they ruled our Percheron driving team, RID Sport horse and Thoroughbreds. Well, the donkey did...he just reaped the benefits of her attitude. It was hilariously adorable to see these massive draughts giving up first dibs on their hay for these pint sized cuties who were always the last to arrive (cursed short legs).
