Regarding the Horses in our lives...

Pics
I am dressage obsessed. (it's like admitting that one's an alchoholic, LOL). From Reiner Klimke in 1984, I was hooked. For 10 years, I did very well. But then life interfered. So I continue to immerse myself in other ways. My dream is to ride a piaffe/passage. Now I find it is attainable with my gaited girl, in her own way. I guess that's where I'll experience it. She has the mind.

Deb, I have taken smashing pictures from a sony and before that a panasonic super zooms that were small cameras. I judge my cameras on how much I can enlarge without distortion. I like to crop what I want in a picture. It's not expensive to get a nice super zoom that takes awesome pictures. I have a DSLR, and I get a bit more clear enlargement from it, but not $1.000.00 worth, LOL. I love the editor in windows gallery. It does everything I want, which isn't much but I would not be using any more than that with any software.

I should scan some pics in. There's so much I have in photos that's just sitting in a box. Most of my show pictures from '85-'95.

I loved the pics I took with my Minolta slr. But I just could not beat the clarity and the fact that I can take a hundred pics to find the "right" one. And it doesn't cost me a fortune. I can't imagine with film. I'd have to be a millionaire.

I have a Nikon Cool Pix that is a point and shoot. outside of the lag time between pressing the button and the actual click for the photo I love it... Its also sealed for water incase I want to take it into the pool good down about twenty feet but the reason I wanted that sealed factor is the dust that is prevalent around my house.

I have seen some that were about 400 less lenses... so I hope one day they will come down more Or I will have a windfall. I have a Nikon SLR somewhere.. So I am assuming those lenses will fit a Nikon body... Sabermount or screw in... and filters.

Yep I love the fact that you can overload on pix. My one and only cruise 35 years ago I took my Cannon TX. It cost me over a hundred dollars to get sixteen rolls of film developed...

I use Corel for my photo editing... But HP has one thats easier to use.

I need to find my old pictures from the Olympics I got to see the cross country in Fairbanks Ranch....

LOL I remember and still use these 3 things that have increased the clarity of my pics, arms against your sides, feet firmly placed, and pressing the button while you exhale. On a tripod, I started to take better pics when I set the timer to delay until my hands were off the camera, or using the remote.

not too practical for action shots though... for me its fast shutter speed... LOL... though that worked to a disadvantage during the olympics... all my shots were of horses Hovering in the air....

LOL. My best friend and perfect picture taker- Automatic. Takes much better pictures than me and saves me the thought process. In fact, I have gone thru a few cameras to find one that had the same thoughts that I did! I think that's important.

Here is an example of a driven dressage test... Halfinger pony well put together and well "put to" meaning whole driving gear setup bieng appropriate size quality etc...

This is the kind of vehicle I was dreaming about designing and building when I moved up to the desert. They are little more than a bent tube frame with expanded metal mesh or diamond plate floor... Seat in the middle for the driver and two seats in the back for a groom.

If you have ever seen Side car races... there is the driver and someone called the monkey. the Monkey's job is to balance the motorcycle throughout the course sometimes hanging dangerously off to the side.

Notice the body armor... Yep they do occasionally flip a carriage.

Four in hand same thing

wouldnt want to drive it but would love to build vehicles for it.

the vehicles fetch ten grand to begin with. and mostly are manufactured in Europe...

I could live with a piece of that market...

Haflingers always have a place in my heart. I once boarded at a sale barn for them. Most were very easy to train. One I rode had one speed-GO. He was fun. If my horse ever needs a companion, it will be a Haflinger. That one on the video sure was beautiful! He was very rhythmic and had a nice rounded posture. And he did all that with blinders on!!! Amazing!

Could someone help me identify this breed of pony/horse? I've looked all over the internet and in my (extremely dated) horse books but can't find any identification. They're at this wildlife park I love to visit and have been there for years. There's about ten of them, though the number fluctuates from year to year, but since they all look more or less the same I assume they're purebreds and not crosses. They are all mixes of black and white, and most of them have blue eyes. Some of them have one blue eye and one dark one.
Anyway, here are a couple pictures.

This pic shows off their body shape best.

And...

Two more... The horse to the right here is the most white of them all. Most of them are mostly black, one is almost entirely black.

Lastly...

There were more horses than just these two, but my pictures of the rest are pretty bad. I've been trying to find out what breed these are for years, but none of the employees know for sure and I haven't been able to catch and talk to the guy who owns the place.
Please, does anyone have any idea what kind of horse this is? It's driving me crazy not knowing.

I'm not good with measurements, but their shoulders were lower than my height, and I'm 5 6.
ETA: Although- there was a tiny difference in ground level on one side of the fence to the other. So... they're around there in size, maybe not exactly. They're smaller than most horses.
