If you are in Minnesota then you have several shows you may attend in your state that are well run and have large numbers of birds. Hutchinson, Frankenmuth to name a couple. Breeders will often have extra birds for sale and once familiar with the SOP for the breed/variety you are interested, begin your search and talk with the breeders politely but frankly about positive and negative attributes of their birds. Most breeders are more than willing to talk for hours if the time exists, so go, have a good time and find you some of the nicest birds you can afford.
