Hello everyone, I'm a regular visitor to the site since we got our chickens last spring so I finally decided to join! We went today and got four more birds to add to our six we already have. They are supposed to be 8 week old Americana (EE) hens but I want to make sure. I tried to pick birds that had the pale combs and non shiny feathers but this is my first time attempting to sex chickens and my wife is worried.

If I need better pics I'll take some when my wife gets home to help. PLMK

I'm a little worried about the lighter one being a roo.

I haven't had chickens for that long, but I'm leaning towards them all being pullers. Do you have any other poultry?

We have six others, One silkie hen, one RIR hen, two tetra tint hens and two Black breasted red phoenix bantams (one hen and one roo). They are just as much pets as they are for eggs. I wanted the EE's to surprise my daughters when they start laying. My plan is to isolate the new ones in the crate inside the coop for a week or more until my adult birds get used to them. All of my birds free range during the day so that should help when I start letting the new ones out of the crate.

Here are Jessie and Woody, the Bantams we've only had them about 6 weeks. Woody is the best rooster I have ever seen. He lets the girls pick him up and hold him like a baby and scratch his belly!
