How can you tell (is it possible?) the difference between regular sized and bantam chickens?
Our white leghorns came from TSC and the bin was marked 'asst. bantams' but how can I tell if that's what we got?
They are 6-7 weeks old right now...

OH you'll know! The reg. sized chickens are MUCH larger than bantams. That is the difference bantys are just miniature chickens lol. If they are very large, probably not bantam. I would say 3lbs or less and you have bantys at full grown. You can tell the difference as chicks too if you have a reg and a banty to compare.

I guess I'll have to wait

I only have the one kind so nothing to compare to (yet

How tall are they right now, at 6-7 weeks? We could probably take a guess. Maybe get a picture by a ruler? We all like pictures of chickens...

Let's see... I don't have pictures near a ruler, but how about a cat?! lol. He does 'rule' the yard so to speak

Does this picture help??

And I was thinking they look like bantams. I went back through my old pictures, looking for pics of my standard leghorns at 6-7 weeks, and I don't have many of them. They're not as flashy as some of my other girls, and I haven't taken as many pics of them. I'll keep looking...

I dunno. I can't tell. Love your ruler, though!
