Regulations in Smithfield, ME, help

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of buying a home in Smithfield, ME and by just doing a quick search on chicken regulations I got “SMITHFIELD – Under current town ordinances, chickens are prohibited in the Smithfield city limits” that being said, the property that I am buying it’s far from the city, how do I check if my property is outside the city limits?

I found some maps but I can’t make sense of them, if I don’t find my property there, does that mean that I am safe?

Since you're buying that house, their property description should say where they pay taxes and how much they are.

Thank you for your response.

After doing more research, I discovered that the town of Smithfield, ME does not mention any regulations regarding chickens (I read the entire town files) Should I even worry about contacting the town?

By the way, discard the info that I provided earlier, google gave the regulations of Smithfield, NC.
