Hello! I have a chicken who was attacked by a Bob cat about a month ago. She’s doing great and is healing well but she is not quite ready to go outside yet. I had 2 other boys in the patio with her but they were recently put outdoors. I’m wondering if yall have any enrichment ideas! She can’t have anything with sand unfortunately due to the wound but anything else is on the table! I just don’t want her getting bored or falling victim to under stimulation. She’s a sweet girl and gets loads of attention since she’s our lil miracle chicken🙏🏼 anyways I appreciate any input and ideas! Thank you!

If you have an area you don't mind digging up, cut a block of turf the right size to fit in a seed tray or roasting tin or similar. Give it a bit of water from the bottom first if the ground's quite dry now where you are. Once she's eaten all the grass etc, flip it over to let her dig through the soil for insects and then dust bath in it once it's dried out and broken up a bit.

If you're happy using food as enrichment, one of those hanging spiral balls you can get to hold suet balls for wild birds is the perfect size for a hard-boiled egg.
