Unfortunately there are a lot of people in your same boat with a surprise cockerel (or many) that they're trying to rehome. I've seen constant posts on here, Facebook, Craigslist of people trying to give up their cockerels/Roosters.
When you ask for photos of people's coops and question how they will care for him... you'll get a lot of people who will drop communication with you because they can get roosters so easily elsewhere.
Most likely the people wanting to take in unwanted roosters are planning on eating them. I know a family that does this. They look for "free roosters looking for a new home" and they do NOT have a coop. To them, it's free food for their family.
You can certainly try to find him a home with people who will keep him as a pet but just don't expect to be picky with who will want to take him. Always have a plan for the surprise male chick. Good news is he's a handsome wynadotte so maybe you'll find someone wanting to breed. Good luck!
