I had to remove a hen from my flock that had been injured by my rooster (which is no longer living with my girls). She was away from them for 4 days. I put her back in the coop, but in a dog crate for the last 5 days, so that the other hens would know who she was. When should she be able to go back to hanging with the other hens?

Hi there.
She should be able to go back in now.
You may not know this but hens remember up to 100 other hen faces
Which means they know her already.
Remember there will be a few little arguments between all the hens because they are
Fixing up the pecking order.
Goodluck
Fionn.

Welcome to BYC!

Give it a try....keep an eye on things closely at first.
How badly was she injured and how?

Tho chicken maybe able to recognize 100 faces, a bird removed from the flock can become a 'stranger' pretty quickly, so there could well be some fighting.
