Provide straw outside and they will do good. They need the straw as an insulator when feet are cold..Straw is hollow and traps in body heat.

On Friday when I brought them in the garage it was cold outside like -1 then bringing them in to 40*......I thought it might have done something to their feet. I mean, yes frostbite turns black but I didn't know if they it was like the beginning of frostbite.....does this make sense or I'm just rambling?....lolWould be like us walking on a cold hardwood floor and then walking on a carpet..Straw helps keep them off the frozen ground..
