I have managed after 2 weeks to nurse back a hen named Floppy who was injured in a predator attack. Wounds are healed, new feathers coming in nicely, but her left wing does not seem to function properly. I attempted to introduce her back to her flock by placing her in the run under protective cage for 3 days. Then attempted to let her out with the other 6 hens and they ambushed her. I've had them outside together under supervision and do notice 2 hens who act assertive towards her. Outside, Floppy can get away or avoid the other hens, but winter is approaching and Floppy needs to be moved back outside from the garage for her health and we'll being. I have had Floppy out with 2 hens I have not observed aggression from. My question is this, how much time is needed to get back to normal for the flock, or will it ever? Should I make a new coop/run and separate Floppy with 2 Non-aggressive hens, keep her alone or give it more time? Suggestions?
