I have not had ducks or chickens in years. I want to create a safe enclosure and then build up a small flock.
I like bantams and puddle ducks. I've had a pretty colorful mix of them in the past.
I have a reasonable chicken house and a large perimeter enclosure. I need to cover the very awkward enclosure with aviary netting.
I used a Rubbermaid horse waterer for the small duck pond. I'd like to make a more attractive and easily cleanable pond this time. Ducks are fowl.
I had a great peaceful batch of bantam roosters and hens-Seabright, Old English, Japanese and Polish. I had Cochins but I don't want any more with feathered feet varieties. Not fun in the mud.
I have had Teals, Mandarins, Mallards and East Indies. I'd like Wood ducks this time.
Not too many mind you. Just a small friendly batch, safe from predators, that are fun to watch and give some eggs.

What a lovely flock your planning! I wish I could keep ducks, but the man of the house remembers the flock on his farm from when he was a kid and the mess they left vividly... so no ducks for me.... So be sure to post plenty of pictures of your lovely waterbabies so I (and others in the same boat) can swoon over your good fortune!
Glad you joined.
