Soon after my Mallards hatched my parents got me this book called "Duck at the Door" it totally came to mind after what you said! It's a short childrens book. My parents thought of me when they saw it so they had to get it for me.

The books about a lady who takes in all animals without homes. One day a duck knocks on her door so she takes it in. It pretty much takes over the house and soon the other animals get a little annoyed. Eventually its time for the duck to fly South and although annoyed, they are still sad to see it go. The next Spring theres another knock at the door. When the lady opens the door the same duck is standing there, but behind are hundreds of duck friends that it brought with! The duck shared how great its home was to the other ducks, so they all came! All she could say was, "Welcome Home" and took them all in.

It's the cutest story, and now after letting her go and typing this, I realize it means so much more!

Hey if it weren't for you this duck wouldn't have even made it this far! Humans tend to forget how strong animals' instincts are...

Hope you get a little visit from time to time

No offense, but other than today, the last post in this thread was in August 2009. A lot of new members have so much fun searching various topics that they forget to check the dates of the posts.
