reluctant to walk

im glad I could help. its not easy the first time around, im sure you will have other questions. feel free to email or pm me anytime you have a question.

im not sure what breed of chick she had, but its all pretty much the same. when chicks are shipped they get stressed and dehydrated (sometimes it happens because of the incubator too) just give them some sugar, vinegar, save a chick, or vitamins and electrolytes and it will usually turn out fine.

as I told her though, you cant save them all. don't get discouraged if your chick does not live, they are tender little creatures.

best of luck,
brian

Wasn't an Araucana - she is a Welsummer. My May recovered well, but a chick from the same batch just now developed the same problem. June is taking much longer to improve - ended up having to tape her feet to get her to walk on them. They are improving but slowly. Shop said they had received additional complaints with the same issue so it was a hatchery problem which makes me feel better. ;) May is so much larger - hard to believe they are the same age. Hopefully June will catch up when she gets her footing. I am optimistic!

Update:
My little Welsummer June recovered nicely from her curling foot and is growing. She hasn't caught up to her sibling yet but is finally feathering out well.
