Remember when Sears sold chickens?

In the 5o's my uncle bought a cocker spaniel puppy from Sears. It was 32.50 and came by train. I was a very young kid then so didn't think it was odd that they sold dogs like any other thing in their catalog.

My dad always bought from them in the old days, loved their craftsman tools, Kenmore vacuum , full house fan, etc. Remember when my mom and I wanted flannel pajamas and the only department store than had them was Sears.
