Piper was a beauty and I'm sure her loss is weighing heavy on you. When I lose a bird, I try to comfort myself by thinking about all the good days they had -- foraging, running around with the others, enjoying good feed and good treats. They are "just a chicken" until you love and care for them, then they become a pet, and I like to think that has value for you both.
