I got my first chickens the first of july. A me pet chicken assortment of 25 mixed layers. They did great lost only 1.
moved out of the brroder to the coop and out to free range. A dog killed 13 of them one afternoon. My doxie got 1. Then something busted into the coop and picked off 1 bird a night for a week. 2 decided to roost in trees and didnt make it. out of my 25 I have 2 left. The coop is critter proof. and I am rebuilding. It has been a year of firsts
