This is a new behavior for them... huddling up in the food bowl rather than under the heat plate. I was planning on raising the plate again this weekend but I did it today after witnessing this.
If they continue to ignore the heat plate, should I remove it and just make a "coop" in the brooder?
The weather has been fluctuating from mid 70s to high 90s during the day. The upstairs gets hot. I have had the window open and a fan blowing air out to help with the smell as well as provide a breeze.
