removing metal bands

Hi, 3 of my new girls have metal bands on their little chicken ankles that I would like to remove. Can anyone tell me a proper, safe way to do this? Thanks!

It depends on what kind of metal bands. if they are the atlas type that have a round hole that is sealed with a special pliers you can usually grab the loose end with a pair of needle nose pliers and roll it back and roll it back tight past the hole and the crimp will come undone.
