Replacement for Rooster Booster Multi-Wormer?

You might be able to get some Durvet Strike III from a vet. These types of wormers containing hygromycin B now require a prescription. How many chickens do you have? The most accurate way to worm is to give something like Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer directly to each chicken orally once and then repeat in 10 days. For a good wormer to put into water for 2 days is Vetafarms Wormout Gel: https://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/medications/worms-wormers/36-vetafarms-wormout-gel-100ml-cc

Thank you so much for this info. I want to keep my girls happy and healthy. How do you treat tapeworm? I'm new to owning chickens and well my 3 geese and everything I've read says to worm them 2x a year...spring and then again in the fall. Is that accurate?

To treat Tapeworms, you need to use Praziquantel. You can find Equimax Horse Paste at TSC. Dose for Equimax is 0.033ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10-14days.

Everyone does things differently. Worming 2X a year seems to be what a lot of folks do, but it also depends on your climate (hot/cold/wet/dry) and how your birds are kept (roaming/foraging vs. penned). Getting a fecal float to see if deworming is necessary is always a good idea if you have a vet that will do one for you. Unfortunately, a lot of vets will not see poultry.

Here's a list of other products and their dose that contains Praziquantel.
